Nigel Mukhi rejoins McGrath to open new McMahons Point office and highlights the trend of agents returning to the Brand

McGrath Estate Agents have signalled its further focus on the group’s expansion across Sydney’s Lower North Shore with the opening of McGrath McMahons Point. The office will be led by Nigel Mukhi who returns to McGrath after six years, as Co Principal, alongside his partners in the new office - John Paranchi, Peter Chauncy and Tracey Dixon.

John McGrath, CEO of McGrath Estate Agents said, “Nigel has been one of the best agents in Australia for over a decade. His laser focus on the Lower North Shore of Sydney has had him build an enviable client base like none other. And his ability to deliver superior results and create Raving Fans makes him a perfect fit back within our team. I’m thrilled to welcome him back home.”

Mr Mukhi explained that he was drawn back to McGrath by its people. “Over the years I’ve remained close to my new business partners and greatly respect how they are growing their footprint with a wonderful energy and commitment to be the best.

“The scale of the McGrath network, especially now with the new partnership with Knight Frank and Bayleys, only strengthens our ability to reach new buyers, particularly those outside Australia, which is very relevant. The support and training offered to us at both a corporate and local level, I believe is unmatched by any other brand. From the top down, John McGrath leads by example. He is so generous with his time and expertise always offered to those within the business.”

McGrath McMahons Point will service the harbour foreshore areas from McMahons Point to Kirribilli and further up into North Sydney.

Mr Mukhi describes these areas as some of the most liveable in Sydney. “They are close to the city, enjoy a café lifestyle, harbourside walks and have an enormous community spirit. The new Sydney Metro has added immense value to the whole precinct, making the commute to many surrounding areas much quicker.”

The new Sydney metro Victoria Cross Station connects North Sydney like never before. Just 3 minutes to Barangaroo, 5 minutes to Martin Place, 15 minutes to Macquarie Park and 5 minutes to Chatswood.*

Mr Mukhi adds, “Property prices have grown in these areas year on year, and I anticipate this to be ongoing with a buoyancy as demand is continuing to outpace supply. In addition to young professionals, we are seeing strong interest from downsizers from the Upper North Shore attracted by the lifestyle, restaurants and easy access to the city.”

For example, Kirribilli has 2,595 properties and over last 5 years has seen a 84.22% increase in median value. CoreLogic reports that 94 properties transacted in the past 12 months.

He adds, “Properties with iconic views will command a premium naturally however there is great diversity of property types across the area and a broad range of prices. You can find studio apartments worth $600,000 as well as a waterfront home worth $30-$40 million in the same street.”

Mr Mukhi has many accolades from the industry – he has been consistently ranked in the REB Top 100 Agents in Australia and Top 50 Agents since the rankings began. His results speak for itself with 47 sales with a value of $172 million in 2024. Recent outstanding results include $13.5 million for a 6 bed, 2 bath home at 4 Adderstone Ave, North Sydney; $7.175 million for a 3 bed, 3 bath apartment at 1802/80 Alfred Street, Milsons Point and $11 million for another 3 bed apartment at 501/1 Kirribilli Avenue, Kirribilli.

Nigel Mukhi will be joined by another top sales agent, Annika Bongiorno, who has already returned to McGrath after several years with Stone Real Estate. Since her return late last year, Annika has sold six properties in four weeks with a 100% auction clearance rate. They include $3.95 million for a 3 bed, 2 bath home at 9 Queens Ave, McMahons Point; $5.73 million for a 4 bed, 2 bath home at 13 Milray Ave, Wollstonecraft; and $2.75 million for 3 bed, 1 bath home at 26 Clifton Avenue, Waverton.

McGrath McMahons Point will become the 6th office in the group led by John Paranchi, Peter Chauncy and Tracey Dixon. Others are located in Mosman, Crows Nest, Willoughby, Hunters Hill and Lane Cove.

John Paranchi, Group Director and Principal explains, “Our growth isn’t just about expanding our footprint—it’s about creating a stronger, more connected network to better serve our clients. What sets us apart is our ability to combine scale with a personal touch. By bringing together top talent we’re building a network that’s agile, innovative, and focused entirely on delivering outstanding outcomes for our clients, wherever they are."

The energy and commitment of the fellow principals has seen their operation evolve to rapidly become an attraction business, seeing not only an impressive influx of new staff joining, but importantly the return of many familiar faces back to the brand. That also includes Anthony Godson, Nick Gittoes, Jon Snead, Nadine Marando at Mosman; Jon Dundas Smith at Willoughby; as well as others at an operational level.

"Revitalising the Mosman team has been an exciting journey, bringing renewed energy and focus to one of the most sought-after markets. By attracting key talent back to the area, we’re not only strengthening our team but also providing our clients with an unparalleled advantage through deep local knowledge and expertise. It’s about delivering the insights and service they deserve in this wonderful community,” Mr Paranchi concludes.

John McGrath adds, “It’s a testament to the leadership of this group that in a very short time, so many agents have come back to join them. Equally I’ve been thrilled at the large number of people who’ve returned to our brand over last 18 months. Our goal is to be the number one residential brand in the country and with amazing people like this returning and joining our incredible team, we are so excited about what lies ahead.”

The new McMahons Point office will also have a rent-roll of 200 properties, which they will grow organically. It is located at 143 Blues Point Road, McMahons Point.
