McGrath Queensland engages new senior auctioneer in response to surging auction campaigns

July 8, 2025 – McGrath Estate Agents has announced the appointment of Marcus Muir as Head Auctioneer for Queensland, a strategic move to meet the escalating demand for auction services within the McGrath network, particularly the thriving Brisbane market. The key appointment follows McGrath's significant expansion in Queensland this year, with the opening of seven* new offices. It underscores the company's commitment to capitalising on the growing appeal of the auction process.

McGrath’s Brisbane and South-East Queensland offices have witnessed a notable surge in auction campaigns for residential property indicating a growing preference for the auction method.

Scott Kennedy-Green, McGrath’s Chief Auctioneer and Head of Network Auctions said, "The Queensland property market is dynamic and resilient, and we're seeing more and more vendors recognise the benefits of the auction process – transparency, speed and the potential to achieve premium results. We are strategically investing in the best talent to serve our clients."

The expansion of McGrath's Queensland footprint including recent openings in Ascot, Samford, Beenleigh and Mt Gravatt, has created a significant increase in the need for highly skilled auctioneers.

"Marcus brings over 10 years’ experience and a proven track record of success to our team," added Mr Kennedy-Green. "His deep understanding of the Queensland market and his exceptional auctioneering skills will be invaluable as we continue to grow and deliver outstanding outcomes for our clients.”

Mr Muir is delighted to be joining McGrath’s exclusive auctioneering team. “McGrath’s footprint across Brisbane and South-East Queensland has grown significantly,” said Mr Muir. “We have industry-leading principals and agents who endorse the benefits for our vendors of selling their property via the auction method. Our job, as auctioneers is to provide unparalleled service and expertise to bring about the best outcomes for our clients,” he added.
