Peter Lewis - chair

Peter was appointed Chair of the Board of McGrath Limited in February 2018. He is currently a non-executive director of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation and Chair of their Audit and Risk Committee; and an advisory board member of Anacacia Capital and Gravity Media Group Ltd. Peter previously worked as Chief Financial Officer for the Seven Group of companies for 15 years and holds a Master of Commerce (UNSW) and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia.

Wayne Mo - Board Member

Wayne Mo - Board Member

Wayne was appointed to the McGrath Board in June 2018 as the nominee of Aqualand Group, one of Australia’s premier residential property development and investment groups. Wayne is CEO of AL Capital, overseeing the growth of its diversified investment portfolio. He has more than 23 years of global experience in international banking, structured finance, and M & A. Prior to joining AL Capital, Wayne held senior executive roles with ANZ for 15 years and was Chief Investment Officer of Hong Kong listed Everchina International Holding. He holds an MBA from Webster University (USA) and Bachelor of Economics from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, and was a Board Director of the Australia China Chamber of Commerce (Beijing) from 2006 to 2008.

Andrew Robinson - Board Member

Andrew was appointed to the McGrath Board in February 2018 and is Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee. Andrew established his legal practice in 1982 with specialisations in tax disputes, corporate re-constructions, franchising and commercial negotiation. Prior to that, he had a background in litigation and commercial law at Freehill Hollingdale and Page. Andrew has had extensive involvement in the property sector over many years as both an advisor and a principal, and has been a long term supporter of various not for profit and charity groups, including Tour de Cure and The Mater/St Vincent’s Hospitals. He holds a Bachelor of Economics and a Bachelor of Laws (University of Sydney).

Shane Smollen - Board Member

Shane was appointed to the McGrath Board in September 2020 with a depth of property experience and a focus on results, leadership and ethics. Having owned one of the country’s leading franchise networks prior to selling to McGrath in 2015, Shane turned his focus to property development. A Director of Central Element, he has been heavily involved in developing premium residential, commercial and hotel projects across Sydney and regional centres with completed and pipeline projects valued at over $750 million. Shane holds a Bachelor of Business from Queensland University of Technology.

John McGrath is one of the most influential figures in the Australian property industry. He took the company from a lounge room start-up in 1988 to be one of Australia's most successful integrated real estate service groups. In 2008, John was honoured by the Real Estate Institute of NSW with the Woodrow Weight OBE Award, a lifetime achievement award for his outstanding contribution to the real estate industry. John was a founding director of the REA Group and served on its board from 1999 to January 2018, and Chairman from 2003 – 2007.

MEET OUR MANAGEMENT TEAM

Eddie Law - Chief Executive Officer

Eddie was appointed to the role of Chief Executive Officer in August 2020 with a vast experience in structured commercial real estate debt funding and global institutional property asset funding. Prior to joining McGrath, Eddie was investment director of MaxCap Group and an executive director of Newground Capital Partners. In 2004 Eddie embarked on a 14-year career with ANZ, his last position being Global Head of Institutional Property, overseeing $25 billion of assets. A focused leader, Eddie holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Mathematics and Accounting (University of Dundee – Scotland).

Howard Herman - ChIEf Financial Officer

Howard was appointed Chief Financial Officer of McGrath Limited in June 2019, with over 25 years’ experience in retail, property and public markets. Prior to joining McGrath, Howard was Chief Financial Officer of global apparel business Naked Brand Group Limited, listed on NASDAQ and previously Chief Financial Officer of Speciality Fashion Group, an ASX listed fashion retailer. His experience in the property sector includes finance roles with Bovis Lend Lease in Sydney and Anglo American Properties in Johannesburg, South Africa. Howard holds a Bachelor of Commerce (University of Cape Town) and is a qualified Chartered Accountant (South Africa and Australia).

Anthony Meaker - Commercial Director

Anthony was appointed Commercial Director of McGrath Limited in 2016, having transitioned to the company’s head office team in 2015 upon its listing with the ASX. Prior to that he was Chief Operating Officer of McGrath’s largest franchisee, the Smollen Group for 5 years. Anthony has been immersed in real estate for much of his career after a period at Deloitte, and worked in several positions for the Ray White Group, including COO of Ray White NSW. He applies his experience and training to drive McGrath growth strategies. His love of the industry extends to providing auctioneering services to the business. Anthony holds a Bachelor of Economics (Sydney University) and is a Chartered Accountant. He also holds an MBA (AGSM); and is a graduate of the AICD.

Christopher Mourd - Head of Franchise & Network Services

Christopher returned to McGrath Limited in June 2017 as Head of Franchise & Network Services, bringing extensive experience in the real estate industry spanning 30 years. Formerly Head of Real Estate and Head of Commercial for LJ Hooker, Christopher was responsible for over 500 offices nationally. Prior to that, he spent over seven years at McGrath in various senior roles with both the franchise and company owned sales divisions, as well as being an accomplished auctioneer.

Nichola Byrne - General Manager of TRET

Nichola joined McGrath Limited in 2011 as a Training and Events Coordinator for Total Real Estate Training (TRET) where she has held several key roles including Event and Exhibitions Manager. Her talent and focus for real estate education and training was recognised when she was promoted to the role of General Manager for the division in 2015. Under Nichola’s leadership, TRET produces a suite of events, including AREC (Australasian Real Estate Conference) which is the largest Real Estate Conference in the Southern Hemisphere.

Rob Fearnley - Head of Company owned property management

Rob was appointed Head of Company Owned Property Management for McGrath Limited in September 2017. Rob has 14 years of extensive operational, financial management and strategic experience. He previously worked as the General Manager of Staples, where he led a $250 million dollar business unit, implementing hyper-growth strategies in the group’s Facility Solutions division across Australia and New Zealand. At McGrath, Rob is responsible for overseeing the company-owned property management business across NSW and QLD. Rob holds an MBA from Macquarie Graduate School of Management.

Michael Conolly - Head of Network Property Management

Michael is one of Australia’s most respected experts in Property Management with over 28 years’ experience in residential, commercial and business management. Michael has had extensive leadership experience, including roles as State Manager of multi-billion dollar asset portfolios. Michael was General Manager of McGrath Property Management from 2002-2005, and returned in 2010 as Head of Network Property Management. Michael fulfils a strategic role in developing the vision for customer-focused service for our clients throughout the McGrath residential asset management network.

Catherine McFarlane - GENERAL MANAGER, Oxygen Home Loans (ACTING)

Catherine joined the McGrath Group in 2011, as Head of Operations and Compliance for its mortgage broking division Oxygen Home Loans; with responsibilities for its licensing, compliance, audit and marketing.  She assumed the role of Acting General Manager in 2019.   As an integral part of Oxygen’s management team, Catherine continues to be an active participant in many industry events.  Under her guidance, Oxygen is continually recognised with industry awards including recently being ranked #7 on the Advisor’s Top 25 Brokerages for 2020.  With more than 17 years’ experience in real estate, mortgage broking and operations roles, Catherine brings a strong history of leadership to the Oxygen business.
