Rachel Maher returns to McGrath as National Head of Marketing as it continues its focus on Innovation and Customer Experience
16th November 2022 – Leading residential agency McGrath Estate Agents today announced the appointment of Rachel Maher as National Head of Marketing for the group.
John McGrath, Managing Director and Chief Executive of McGrath said, “It’s so exciting to have Rachel return to our business. She is one of the most experienced and talented marketing executives in the residential real estate industry. Her skills and talents are exactly what we need as we enter a period of rapid expansion.”
Ms Maher said, “McGrath has always had a culture of high performance, excellence and innovation and with John McGrath again at the helm, it gave me confidence that the passion and drive that he demonstrates was at the forefront of the business. This was without a doubt a drawcard for me.
“Naturally the focus on the customer experience will include more futuristic and strategic amplifications of social and digital channels as they deliver a broader reach. I am acutely aware that this is a people business and a sales business. I want to support a collaboration with our agents, understand niche markets and segments as we maximise their marketing initiatives,” she explained.

Ms Maher returns to McGrath having spent three years at executive level with LJ Hooker Group (2019-2022) as General Manager Operations and Marketing, and more recently has Head of Product with a focus on digital transformation of the residential sector. Prior to that, her working career spans more than 12 years in various roles for McGrath that included General Manager, Franchise Operations supporting growth for the company’s franchise rollout, focusing on operational excellence to improve efficiency and performance with an additional emphasis on marketing capabilities around brand awareness and launch campaigns.
Rachel Maher has immersed herself in the industry from a young age, with a passion and desire to work in property sales. In 2007 she landed a Customer Service Manager role in Sydney’s Lane Cove office working with leading prestige agent Tracey Dixon. She explains, “This gave me real, lounge-room experience from an agent perspective and has proven invaluable to me as I moved into more corporate roles.”

Ms Maher holds a Master Business Administration (MBA) from the Australian Institute of Business; and won the Shared Services Award at the 2017 McGrath Awards.
