McGrath Estate Agents congratulated Betty Ockerlander from McGrath Epping, who was named Residential Salesperson of the Year at the REINSW Awards for 2019 on Thursday at a gala reception at The Star in Sydney.

McGrath CEO Geoff Lucas said, “This is an exceptional achievement from one of our industry’s hardest working and most diligent agents. Betty is consistently ranked in the Top Ten agents within the McGrath network, and it’s terrific for her to be recognised by her peers within the industry. Betty consistently achieves outstanding results for her clients and we are extremely proud to have her represent the McGrath brand.”

The award caps off a successful year for Ms Ockerlander, having ranked No. 19 in Real Estate Business Top 100 Ranking, and No. 7 in Real Estate Business Top Women in Real Estate.

A 26 year industry veteran, Betty said: “I am truly humbled by this award. I’ve been a finalist several times, but winning is very rewarding for many reasons. Not only is this a career milestone, but as a committee member of the Sales Chapter of the REINSW, I’m very much committed to training and supporting the next generation of agents to be the best that they can be, as ultimately that lifts the game both for our industry as well as ensuring we service our clients in the best possible way.”

In 2019, Ms Ockerlander has negotiated some outstanding sales in her key suburbs of Epping, Carlingford, Beecroft and surrounding areas of Sydney’s Northern Districts. Her results include setting street records at 15A Wycombe Street, Epping for $2,090,000 and 1 Wyvern Street, Epping for $1,905,000; and sales such as 7 Grandview Parade, Epping for $2,560,000; and most recently 111 Essex Street Epping for $2,360,000 and25 Tobruk Avenue Carlingford for $1,620,000.

Commenting on her local market, Betty sees an upswing in buyer activity. “We are seeing for example 60 groups through many opens, as the shortage of stock is having an impact. Buyers are mainly from outside the area, gravitating to the high performing schools such as Epping West Public and Carlingford West Public,” she concludes.

The REINSW Awards for Excellence recognise excellence in the real estate profession. Residential Salesperson Award recognised outstanding achievement by individuals in residential sales.
