McGrath opens new Hornsby office as they target Upper North Shore for growth
Thursday 29 Apr 2010

Leading residential agency, McGrath Estate Agents, today announced the opening of a new office at Hornsby, testament to its belief in the strength and growth potential of the Upper North Shore region. This is the 33rd office for the rapidly expanding franchise network.

John McGrath, Chief Executive of McGrath, said Hornsby’s appeal lay in its well-established infrastructure and transport systems, relative affordability and quality and diversity of its housing stock. “Within Hornsby you have a mix of high-density apartments close to the town centre, well-established homes on generous blocks of land and premium waterfronts all within an attractive bushland environment.

“The result is a well-balanced suburb with appeal to a wide range of buyers – first home buyers, families with children and those wanting to swap the large home for something more modern with lower maintenance.”

Mr McGrath also noted the Council’s commitment to facilitating further development to meet likely population increases. “The Hornsby Council has identified 25 precincts throughout its local government area with potential for rezoning so we can expect to see increased development activity in future years.  This is a boon for home buyers, investors and renters,” said Mr McGrath.

The McGrath Hornsby office will be headed by Mark Saad, a former Director of Franchise for Richardson & Wrench and marketing director for the Holland Group.  Mr Saad has more than 30 years experience in property and was responsible for establishing the R & W franchise in Western Australia and has owned and managed real estate offices in Drummoyne and Strathfield.

Mr Saad said the entrance of the McGrath brand to Hornsby would satisfy a real demand for innovative, best practice property marketing. “The McGrath network is well-known throughout Sydney for its superior marketing, intelligent use of technology and customer service and I am extremely excited at the prospect of extending that service to the residents of Hornsby,” said Mr Saad.

“This area is brimming with potential offering value for money real estate that is fast disappearing in Sydney.  I’m looking forward to making the McGrath Hornsby office a known and trusted part of this community.”

McGrath Hornsby will have a team of around 12 agents as well as offering property management  and home loan services.   Its sales team will service the suburbs of Thornleigh, Westleigh, Normanhurst, Waitara, Hornsby, Hornsby Heights, Asquith, Mt Colah, Mt Ku-ring-gai, Berowra, Berowra Waters, Cowan and Brooklyn.

The office is located at 16-20 Edgeworth David Avenue, Hornsby, Phone 02 8914 8888.
