February 25th, 2010 – Leading residential real estate group, McGrath Estate Agents, today announced the opening of a new office in Pymble on Sydney’s Upper North Shore as part of its ongoing premium franchise roll-out throughout Australia. This is the 31st office for the rapidly expanding network and a sister office for the well-established Lindfield branch.
John McGrath, Chief Executive of McGrath, said the company already had excellent market share in the Pymble region – an example of this being 30 sales worth $46 million in the suburb of St Ives in 2009 alone. “Pymble is the ideal location for our second Upper North Shore office and demonstrates our keen commitment to this important regional market,” Mr. McGrath said.
McGrath Pymble Principal, Shane Smollen, said opening a McGrath office north of Mona Vale Road was a natural progression following the enormous long term success of the Lindfield office. The Lindfield office will continue to service the area south of Mona Vale Road while Pymble will focus on the north, he said.
Existing McGrath agents that will operate in the new Pymble location are Matthew Lorimer, Carole McCrea, Phil Orr, Tanya Thomson, Brady Yoshia, Emma Thompson and Carole Johnson, James Levy and James Eyden.
“We have many highly experienced area specialists now well established in the Pymble region,” Mr. Smollen said. “We therefore felt the time was right in 2010 to establish a local presence to further entrench ourselves in the community.”
Mr. Smollen described the Upper North Shore as “one of the most prestigious and sought after areas to live in Sydney”.
“Many generations of growing families have enjoyed the safe haven that the Upper North Shore offers. They take advantage of prestigious schools, leafy surrounds and outstanding sporting facilities with ease of access to the city and CBD.”
Mr. Smollen said the Upper North Shore had become a magnet for property developers in recent years, with many new apartment blocks specifically catering to local downsizers. “The Upper North Shore is experiencing a change in dynamics with new developments. These developments are being sought after by a sector of the market who are seeking to downsize from the family home and wish to continue enjoying the benefits of the area.”
