In 1825, Edward Wollstonecraft was granted 500 acres of land. On the highest point of his patch he built a fine house to take in the commanding view of Sydney harbour. That house was called “Crows Nest”, and the surrounding property became known as “Crows Nest Farm”. Upon his death in 1832, his business partner and brother in law, Alexander Berry continued farming here until his death in 1873.
