We have been in our new home for exactly one month today.
We couldn’t be happier with the result and the process of selling our home of 26 years mostly due to the professional and personal efforts of Steven Berlyn of McGrath Real Estate. Our story is unusual but then again Steven is an unusual Real Estate Agent.
Arriving home after moving our daughter into her new flat and dropping Bruce to the airport, I collected our mail to find a letter from McGrath’s Steven Berlyn. While I knew our home was far too big for three people I hadn’t thought of selling until our son had completed his Higher School Certificate late this year. However, it had been a momentous day and I thought why not give Steven a call. The story starts there.
Steven met with us at our home, and was faced with a very sceptical Bruce who was not a fan of Real Estate Agents. He still isn’t, however he wasn’t dealing with your typical agent.
Steven took the time to get to know us and made Bruce feel comfortable with putting our house on the market. He didn’t try and convince us that an expensive campaign was the way to go, even though that would have made his job a lot easier. He put considerable effort into understanding our needs and offering advice and assistance.
Steven kept in touch during the process and always informed us of his actions, feedback and results. He always promptly responded to our requests and would drop by regularly to our property 31 Bulls Road, Burraneer.
The lady who purchased our home jokingly remarked that we should swap houses, as she wanted to upsize and knew we wanted to downsize. When we mentioned this to Steven we all laughed, but when we considered it in reality it did make sense.  Steven decided to approach them and within two days we settled on a deal. During this period Steven worked tirelessly with both families and in our opinion it could not have been fairer. It is a tribute to his professional approach and impeccable character that both parties were happy to use the one agent.
I would not hesitate to recommend Steven Berlyn as an experienced, ethical and professional agent who goes beyond the call of duty to achieve an outstanding result. He has also become a true friend to both Bruce and myself.
