"Early in 2010 Gail and I decided to investigate selling our house in Price Street in Bowral. It was a very modest ex-commission house which we had renovated quite nicely, added a home office to the backyard and established a private and very liveable garden. This made our house somewhat difficult to pigeon hole for sale. So, we contacted three local agents to gauge their opinion of the property and see how they would go about marketing it. Kathie and Rick from McGrath suggested a short-term, intensive campaign linked to an auction date only 5 – 6 weeks out. We were not comfortable with the idea of an auction at all but, as winter was approaching, we did like the idea of a short, intense, autumn campaign. Selling a house in the Southern Highlands in times of economic uncertainty was always going to be a challenge and possibly a very stressful experience.  Many houses linger on the market, sometimes for years!  We were prepared to be patient despite Kathie’s reassurance that with the right pricing and marketing campaign we could expect our house to be sold speedily. The marketing was very exceptional and certainly resulted in good numbers at open houses. We exchanged contracts within three weeks; achieving a sale very close to our goal price. Kathie and Anne’s professionalism and regular communications were brilliant; with timely follow-up phone calls after inspections and relaying of all other pertinent information. They clearly know their business and the locality. At all times they were helpful, understanding and courteous. I highly recommend their services as they will get the job done efficiently and effectively; all with a sense of humour.
