A Central Coast resident since the age of three, Brent Pilkington grew up with a love for the coastline, its proximity to the Sydney city life and an understanding that where there is sunshine, sand and surf – people will holiday.
A former Central Coast Tourism board member and recipient of NSW Tourism’s Young Business Achiever award, he’s a quiet achiever with an entrepreneurial mind. “For as long as I can remember, my family has always owned and run motels, so it was really quite a natural progression for me to enter the hospitality industry,” Brent explained.
Having owned and operated a youth hostel, multiple motels and now his own holiday rental business, Brent has even travelled as far as Dublin in Ireland – among 40-plus other countries – to diversify his hospitality experience, where his focus was big hotel chains.
By the age of 25, he had three mortgages of his own and a very intimate understanding of the buying and selling process of real estate. “I’ve continued my property investing and with 10 years dedicated to holiday rentals, I decided it was time to venture into real estate sales,” Brent said.
With the holidaying market of most interest to Brent, he was quick to identify a large niche of Sydney-siders calling the Central Coast their second home. “The majority of my clientele are holidaying families from Sydney and the McGrath brand is not only a benchmark in real estate, but a name with which my clientele associate confidence and trust,” he stated.
Out of work hours, Brent is a member of Terrigal Surf Life Saving Club and a passionate sports fan who’ll try his hand at anything – from surfing, tennis and squash to running, riding, swimming and triathlons, there’s no limit to his love of the outdoors.
